Dimapur, March 19 (MExN): The Bureau of Indian Standards, Ministry of Consumer Affairs- Food & Public Distribution held a sensitisation programme on the use of BIS certified products at Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall, Dimapur on March 19.
The resource person was Barashajyoti Baishya, BIS Consultant. The programme involved a presentation on the BIS and its recent initiatives. The Gram Pradhans were provided with valuable insights into how BIS standards play a crucial role in various sectors, including agriculture, industry, and consumer protection.
The Gram Pradhans were also briefed on the effective use of informative Gram Panchayat booklets containing important standards. They were also informed about the importance of adhering to these standards in government purchases to ensure that public funds are utilized efficiently and effectively.
The event was chaired by EAC Dimapur, Imlijungla Lemtur.
