DIMAPUR, APRIL 26 (MExN): District Health Authority, Zunheboto under CMO Office conducted one day sensitization and training programme for pharmacy owners under Zunheboto district on April 26 at CMO Office. 

Issues such as various categories of drugs, record maintenance of Schedule H, HI and X categories of drugs were deliberated. Deputy CMO, Dr. K. Akaho Sema highlighted the responsibilities of pharmacy owners as keepers of life saving drugs and informed on strict compliance to sell the drug against the prescription of the physicians only. 

He further stated that pharmacy should be an asset and not liability as they play a vital role in the health care set up and encouraged them to contribute their service for the welfare of the society.

District Drug Control Officer (DCO), Boto Sema trained the participants on different categories of drugs and its record maintenance and highlighted on Schedule C & C1, Schedule H, H1 and schedule X categories of drugs. He said that the record maintenance of such category of drugs was necessary in compliance of Section 18b of Drugs and Cosmetic Act. 1940 and Rules 1945. 

He also stressed on the issue of substance abuse which is a socio-economic menace and sought the cooperation of pharmacy owners in strengthening the system by installing CCTV as directed by the District Administration which is a part of Joint Action Plan under National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) and Narco Coordination Centre (NOCORD). 

The programme was chaired by Hekato S Chishi, Senior Pharmacist CMO Office.
