Zunheboto, June 19 (MExN): District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Zunheboto organized sensitization programmes on Child Rights and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012 for the Village Level Child Protection Committee (VLCPC) in the four blocks of Asukho, Natha New, Vishepu, and Ghukiye on May 20-21 and June 9-11 respectively.
The resource persons of the programme were Raitale Zeliang, Programme Manager (SCPS) and Avika Zhimomi, District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), Zunheboto.
Raitale and Avika spoke about the structure of Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) and the roles and functions of VLCPC. Meanwhile, J. Khetoholi Yepthomi, Legal cum Probation Officer spoke regarding the Juvenile Justice Act (JJ Act) and POCSO Act 2012.
The village GBs, VLCPCs, students, church leaders, and Anganwadi workers from 30 villages attended the programmes.
