DIMAPUR, JUNE 28 (MExN): A one day programme on sensitization of stakeholders on Malaria elimination and declaration of Mangkolemba as a model village under NVBDCP was held on June 28 2018 at Sunday School Hall, Mangkolemba Town.
Dr. S. Marina, DVBO Mokokchung while presenting an overview of malaria revealed that Mangkolemba block had the most malaria cases in the state and was the only block in Nagaland with annual parasite incident. She however informed that malaria cases were seeing a decline as compared to previous four years, ie, in 2015, there were 73 cases reported, in 2016-64, 2017-39 and in 2018 only 1 malaria cases has been reported so far.
State representative from Kohima, Narola, IEC Consultant presented on the vision, causes and objectives for Mangkolemba block. The programme was chaired by Imkummongba, District Consultant, Mokokchung and the programme was concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Imnawati, Assistant malaria officer.
