Kohima, August 11 (MExN): Sensitization programme on Poshan Abhiyaan (National Nutrition Mission) and IEC and Advocacy Campaign at Block level was held along with line departments at Chiechama village under CDPO Chiephobozou on August 7.
Keynote address was delivered by Anyile Khamo CDPO, Chiephobozou. She highlighted that Poshan Abhiyaan is the National Nutrition Mission which aims for holistic nourishment to strengthens and harmonise action for nutrition and reduce the nutrition gap in India. She stressed on the target groups, its objective and through convergence how the objectives can be achieved. She also stressed on monitoring and reporting from the grass root level by Anganwadi workers.
Samuel Thyng, SDO Civil Chiephobozou also highlighted on the importance of community health for a vibrant society. He said that to address the issue convergent efforts from all line departments is important. He said to achieve the target and to make the mission successful community need to be involved and give full cooperation. He also emphasised on the importance of community sanitation.
Tokali, staff nurse Chiephobozou stressed on the importance of Antenatal care, exclusive breast feeding and timely immunization. She also stated that there are various facilities available in the department and urged the community to avail the services provided by the medical centres.
Vidilhounuo Solo, District Co-ordinator, spoke on the scheme available under PMMVY. She said under this scheme maternity benefit is provided by the government and cash incentive is provided to pregnant and lactating mothers.
The programme was chaired by Agatha, SAA. Earlier, invocation was pronounced by Dieliepu-u and concluded with vote of thanks by Lanuakum Walling senior supervisor.
