Dimapur, February 20 (MExN): The five day sensitization programme on Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Program (SVEP), under Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) was conducted from February 15 to 19.
It was held for 50 villages, which were divided into 10 clusters and held at 10 different village venues. This programme is in partnership with Entrepreneur Associates (EA), which will be the main Project Implementing Agency (PIA).
This programme will enable rural poor to set up various enterprises in order to help them develop sustainable livelihoods and economic growth. These enterprises may consist of individuals or groups and will cover manufacturing, services and trading. During the sensitization program, Motsuthung Lotha, Mission Director (MD) NSRLM, spoke on how to avail the services offered by the programme.
Alemla Chishi Project Director (PD) DRDA Dimapur urged upon the villagers to take up the programme seriously for the benefit of all. Neichute Doulo, CEO (EA) encouraged the people that this is an opportune time for the people to wake up from their comfort zone and start working in order to make their lives better. Highlights of the SVEP were given by the COO and the SPM, NSRLM and from the representatives of the PIA (EA).
The DPO and the BDO, RD Block Chumukedima also spoke about the benefits of the program and encouraged the people in order to avail the benefits of such programs. The sensitization program was organised by the Block Team and all the NSRLM staff, led by BPM RD Block Chumukedima, M. Yimok Phom and SVEP BPM, Eyingbeni Ngullie.
The programme was attended by the VCCs and the VC members, VDB Secretaries, SHGs, student bodies, youth organizations, villagers and concerned individuals alike.
