Sensitization programme for girl child in Jalukie

Peren, October 23 (MExN): Peren District Administration and District Level Center for Women organized a sensitization program at Barail Valley Higher Secondary School, Jalukie Town marking the celebration of Girl Child month in the district under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) on October 21. 

A DIPR report stated that Women Welfare Officer, Heiriateilei in her address stated that educating the girl child is the sole motive under BBBP to ensure the progress of the girl child in the District. She stressed on protection of children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 which deals with various types of sexual offences and ensure every child is not harassed. She called upon all to make use of the act that works for the safety of children. She also encouraged all to work for betterment and be a part to bring a positive change in the days to come.

During the programme, sanitary pads were distributed to all the girls and pens to the boys.
