Sentiyanger Imchen appointed new Nagaland Chief Secretary

Kohima, July 30 (MExN): Sentiyanger Imchen, the present Additional Chief Secretary & Finance Commissioner of Nagaland, has been appointed as the next Chief Secretary of the State.

Imchen will assume office as the State’s top bureaucrat with effect from August 1, 2025, informed an official notification issued by the Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms (DP&AR), Nagaland on Wednesday.

He will assume the new post upon the superannuation of the incumbent Dr J Alam, IAS, Chief Secretary, on July 31, it added.

As per the State Civil List (as on April 1, 2024) published by DP&AR, Imchen is poised to hold the post until January 2027, before his retirement upon attaining the age of 60 years.

Dr Alam officially assumed the post of Chief Secretary on February 12, 2021, as per the list. He was given the charge following the demise of the then incumbent, Temjen Toy.
