Kohima, March 9 (MExN): The department of Sericulture organized farewell programme on March 9 in honour of the outgoing Director Chandan Basera, who retired on February 28 after serving 35 yrs of public service. The programme was blessed by the presences of E.E Pangteang Konyak, Parliamentary Secretary, Sericulture, Home Guards & Civil Defence. C.M Tsanglao, IAS, Secretary, Sericulture, while wishing the outgoing Director a healthy and long happy retired life, reminded the officers and staffs of the department to carry forward the good legacy of the outgoing Director and also welcome the incoming Director, Imtisosang Ao.
In his farewell speech, Chandan Basera gave a brief account of his service life, challenges, experiences and achievements he had in the department. With his theme of ‘Service before Self’ he impressed upon the officers and staffs to work consistently to fulfill the missions with patriotism, sacrifice and professional excellence.
