Dimapur, August 26 (MExN): Law students today posed a number of questions to the director of Food & Civil Supply concerning over what is understood to be doubts over matters of appointment of “SIS” and “SK”, LDA-computer assistants and general concerns over transparency. The City Law College Students’ Union issued a note today seeking response from Food & Civil Supply over a number of clarifications made by the director of the department to another students’ union.
“As the director so said that a large number of application for SIS and SKs were received seeking appointment against the resultant vacancies. So the question hare is how did the applicants came to know about the said post when it has not been publicly advertised?” the union queried the director of the department. The union also said the clarifications had stated to “maintain transparency and give equitable opportunities to all applicants seeking appointments.”
“So when it has not been publically advertised to us than where is the transparency and equity that the director I talking about?” the union questioned. Regarding the government advertising only the posts for LDA-computer assistants, the union said, it does not justify conducting examinations without public notification.
Stating these assertions, the law students wondered on the manner the department is trying to recruit the candidate for the said post. This dealing clearly shows a policy of “pick and choose” hampering the rights of the educated unemployed to compete fairly through open competitive examinations. The City Law College students have demanded that the authority revoke the current applications and conduct examinations after proper notification and examinations. The union also expressed full support to the demands of the Western Sumi Students’ Union for any further steps they may take on the issue.
