Phesama, January 5: St Paul Institute of education, Phesama is organizing an in-service programme with the theme ‘Teachers for Tomorrow’ for the elementary teachers. Teachers from all over North East are taking part in it.
Keeping in mind the need of quality teachers, the institute organizes every January such programmes. It is an opportunity for the teachers to refresh and update themselves. The ten days course comprises of basic teaching skills, understanding primary children, classroom management, understanding the role of teachers in the modern world, rhymes, dynamic games and action songs.
Resource persons include Fr Charles D Souza SJ, Rev. Dr Anand Periera SJ, Sr Deepthi FCC, Sr. Tessin FCC and Felix Monteiro SJ. The first batch with 60 teachers started on January 3 and gets over on January 14. Yielding to the request of the schools and teachers this year there will be two batches. The second batch starts from January 16. The fully residential programme aims at creating effective teaching learning situations.
