KOHIMA, MARCH 23 (MExN): MLA Pohwang Konyak today appealed to the NLA to set up a committee to initiate talks with the NSCN (K) to start ceasefire with the Government of India. Pohwang who met the NSCN (K) in July last year mentioned that during in the course of their discussions, the latter mentioned about the rumors that spread before they broke the ceasefire with the GoI. “If situation worsens, we will not be able to live. If we want to begin ceasefire, there needs to be someone who can do the job. Only the papers/written document will not work, the government has to implement it,” he stated, while speaking at the NLA session today. “Only through dialogue we will get to know what is good and bad. We have to know what their opinion is and what the opinion of the Naga public is. We have to understand their situation and make them understand our situation. All Nagas want solution, and we need to participate in the solution,” he urged.
