
Dimapur, January 4 (MExN): Urging upon the students to set vision while pursuing education for a successful career in life, Former chief minister, KL Chishi, today said, “If we don’t pursue education with vision, we may fail in our life.” Addressing the three-day 6th general conference of the Sakipheto Range Students’ Union in Medziphema town on the theme ‘Education with a vision,’ Chishi said it is not possible to achieve success without hard work. In this regard, he said students from Classes VI and above should set vision on what they wanted to become in life.
Chishi urged the students to put God front in all their undertakings for his guidance adding only then they will realise the countless blessings that God had bestowed upon them. Stating that Medziphema is home to many communities, Chishi encouraged the students to get involve with other leaders for a healthy atmosphere and development of the area.
President of Western Sumi Students’ Union, Nito Achumi said setting proper aim in life should form the foundation of education for success in life. Stating that there is always rooms for those who work hard in life, he asked the students not to get discourage because of the backdoor appointment practices prevailing in the Naga society. He mentioned of certain practices in which parents arrange government job for their wards after completing the secondary level which leaves them with complacency. He said such practices discourage them from pursuing further studies and compete with others in civil services.
Folk songs and dance and other cultural presentations marked the day. Seminars on ‘Youth and entrepreneur,’ and Dignity of labour’ were held.
