AKHOYA, JANUARY 5 (MExN): Seven students’ pillars representing the Ao Students' Conference (AKM) and six ranges of Ao country in Mokokchung district was inaugurated by Anenla T Sato, Commissioner & Secretary, Government of Nagaland on January 5.
The pillars were erected at Keyimeta Park, Akhoya as a commemorative place of the AKM 69th General Conference held in the village from January 18 to 20, 2023.

Members of AKM, Akhoya Village Council, Akhoya Students' Union, women group, church and AKM Local Planning Committee were present during the inauguration.
Mentioned may be made here that a Lijaba monument, believed to be the creator of Earth in Ao Naga mythology, was also set up near a place where he was given shelter and hosted by two sisters Nüngjansangla and Alala from Akhoya village.
According to Ao folklore and as per the monument inscription, after an overnight stay, Lijaba blessed the paddy field of the two sisters with bountiful harvest. The monument called “Tsüngrem Sabang (God’s Platform) Lijaba Resting Place” was inaugurated by the Nagaland Roads & Bridges Minister, G Kaito Aye during the 69th General Conference of AKM held in Akhoya in January 2023.
