Niuland, February 21 (MEXN): An exposure trip to Women Help Desk at Niuland Police Station, Niuland Town was organised under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, District administration, Niuland in collaboration with the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Niuland on February 19.
A total of 19 students of Government High School, Nito accompanied by their teacher visited and interacted with the Police personnel at Niuland Town Police Station, stated a DIPR report.
The ACP Niuland, Nokinketba Longkumer, NPS, welcomed the students and briefed them on the activities carried out in the police station on a normal day along with the procedures of filing FIRs, different types of cases handled and the working of the law enforcement. The students were also given a tour of the police station.
Seminar on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao
A seminar on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was conducted at Government High School Nito under Niuland district on February 18 with Alovika Swu, NPS Assistant Commandant of 12th NAP (IR) Battalion as the resource person.
Alovika Swu spoke on cyber security, POCSO Act and other laws on women and child. Later, Swu held a close interaction with the students. EAC Niuland, Kelengunuo Solo briefed the students on the implementation of Mission Shakti in the district.

Painting competition
The District Road Safety Committee, Niuland organised a painting competition on the theme ‘slow down, save lives’ at DC’s Conference hall, Niuland on February 18.
The competition witnessed participation of 12 students across four schools in Niuland town in which three students namely Aghakivi of Reginald Hughes Shaw Memorial School (RHSM), Meagan of RHSM and Angukavi of St Joseph School, Niuland were adjusted winners of the competition.
The programme was held under the supervision of EAC Niuland, Er Omegali.
