Dimapur, September 29 (MExN): Dimapur Police have made several arrests this month in connection to illegal collection of tax, non possession of ILP documents and under NLPT Act.
According to a press release from Dimapur Police PRO, on September 25, Dimapur Police arrested one person, Thukhuru (42) and recovered .22 Pistol with magazine and three live rounds from his possession. In this connection, a case has been registered at East Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation.
Subsequently, on September 26, public apprehended one person, identified as Govinda Singh (30) who was attempting to snatch a bag near sub-jail junction, Dimapur. A case was accordingly registered for further investigation.
Dimapur Police Anti Extortion Team (AET) on September 28 also apprehended two persons, Takusunep Stm (25), NSCN (KN) and Botoka Yeptho (21) for collecting illegal tax from truck drivers. 5 nos of Vehicle tax receipts and cash of Rs 2625 was recovered from their possession. Accordingly, a case has been registered at Sub-Urban Police Station, Dimapur and further investigation is on.
This month, nine persons, namely Shaitan Singh, Boshua Rai, Vijay Boro, Suraj Gantharpa, Manoj Thapa, Suman Rongpi, Mohan, Ajay Singh, Sujit Singh were apprehended by Dimapur Police on different occasions, in connection with possession of liquor. A total of 1285 IMFL bottles were seized and booked under the NLTP Act.
Meanwhile, 22 persons were arrested by Dimapur Police in the month of September while manning the Chümoukedima Check gate for non possession of ILP documents. In this regard, cases were registered at Chümoukedima Police Station under BEFR Act and forwarded to court.
