Kohima, September 11 (MExN): Responding to the application of Self Employed Women Association (SEWA) Kohima, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has given permission to vegetable vendors within Kohima to utilize the northern part of Kohima Local Ground on all weekdays except Wednesday to sell organic vegetables and local products from September 11.
Several vendors under the banner of SEWA Kohima occupied the space today. They shall be allowed to utilize the space subjected to the certain terms and conditions, stated KMC administrator Kovi Meyase.
The business shall be opened by 6:00 AM till 5:00 PM on all week days except Wednesday.
Only Northern gate of the Local Ground shall be utilized. Nominal fees shall be charged as usual for maintenance. Only bonafide members having valid pads shall be allowed to utilize the allotted area.
The vendors shall compulsorily follow SOP guidelines issued by the Authority. Use of banned plastic is strictly prohibited. Sale of any prohibited items is strictly restricted.
They shall adhere to the rates of KMC. No items shall be sold beyond the fixed rate.
Violation of any of the terms and conditions shall lead to immediate cancellation of the permit.
This permit is valid till September 30, stated Meyase.
It is pertinent to mention that Angami Youth Organization (AYO) and Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) have recently initiated a weekly organic market at Kohima Local Ground. It opens every Wednesday towards North Gate of Kohima Local Ground from 6:00 am onwards.
