
Dimapur, June 25 (MExN): Fr Dr Joe Mariadhas, Director from Shalom Rehabilitation Centre, Chümoukedima highlighted the services rendered by Shalom Rehabilitation Centre for the last 31 years during the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking observed yesterday.
The programme was attended by Governor of Nagaland La Ganesan, Most Rev Dr James Thoppil, Bishop of Nagaland, Most Rev Denis P, the Auxiliary Bishop of Miao in Arunachal Pradesh, Priests and Lay Leaders of the Catholic Community, stated a press release.
Stressing on the theme, 'the evidence is clear: Invest in prevention', the director emphasized on evidence-based approaches to prevent drug abuse and illicit trafficking where the Shalom Rehabilitation Centre has been working on rehabilitation and prevention of substance in Nagaland which has affected our communities and still taking young people as victims of substance abuse.
The Governor assured all assistance and services possible and meanwhile called to work together to prevent the menace of substance abuse in line with the theme of the year.
