Dimapur, July 12 (MExN): Shamator-Chessore Assembly Constituency in Tuensang district was on Monday declared vacant by the Assembly Secretariat following the death of sitting NDPP MLA Toshi Wungtung on July 1. Consequent to Wungtung’s demise, the 58 Shamator-Chessore Assembly Constituency seat has become vacant with effect from July 3, Commissioner & Secretary, Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Dr PJ Antony informed on Monday. Toshi Wungtung, who was elected on the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) ticket held the post of Advisor for the Departments of Information & Public Relations, SCERT and the Village Guards.
