Shamator hosts TEJAS prog to promote inclusive startup ecosystem

Shamator, April 17 (MExN): To promote inclusive entrepreneurship and strengthen grassroots innovation, Startup India under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with the Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Nagaland, and the district administration, conducted a workshop under the TEJAS (Transforming Entrepreneurial Journeys Across States and Districts) initiative at Government Higher Secondary School, Shamator on April 16.

According to a DIPR update, the TEJAS initiative marks a nationwide effort to identify, nurture and support aspiring entrepreneurs, startups and students from non-metro regions by enabling access to resources, mentorship and institutional support for building scalable ventures. The programme is being implemented across 132 districts with a focus on capacity building, ecosystem development and expanding entrepreneurial opportunities.

The workshop was held in the presence of Sangtsui Shiu, Extra Assistant Commissioner, Shamator; P Nyeipa Phom; Amrit Giri; and Thungdi C Chang, along with officials from Assam Rifles including Ajay Pillai and Dorjee Lobsang.

Resource persons included Ikheshe Kahoto; Ravi Verhwani and Ritwik Malhotra from Startup India, DPIIT; Ishdeep Singh; Tsakhali Shitoba; and Rishav Sethi.

The workshop witnessed participation from startups, students, NGOs and aspiring entrepreneurs, fostering an engaging environment for innovation and collaboration.

Sessions focused on various aspects of the entrepreneurial journey, including ideation, access to government schemes, funding opportunities, market linkages and sector-specific innovation pathways.

Participants were also introduced to key initiatives under Startup India, including DPIIT recognition, incubation support and access to national platforms.

Officials said the initiative aligns with the government’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat@2047, aiming to create a robust and inclusive startup ecosystem across the country.
