Shamator town leaders appealed to maintain peace

The Public Forum Shamator Town (PFST), GBs, public leaders and NGOs convened an emergency meeting at the private residence of Parliamentary Secretary for Municipal Affairs, and Economics & Statistics, R Tohanba, at Shamator town on January 26.  

Addressing the meeting, the Parliamentary Secretary said the recent incidents in Shamator town and adjacent areas including the bomb blast and exchange of fire as unfortunate and to be condemned by all sections of people.  

Tohanba appealed the leaders of Shamator town including PFST to maintain peace and harmony. He said Shamator town being the administrative headquarter has lots of scope for development, expansion and upgradation. But for any kind of development, peace is a pre-requisite and further appealed the gathering to initiate cooperation among neighbouring villages to speed up development in the sub-division.  

After thorough deliberations, the members present in the meeting unanimously resolved to endorse the administration to call neighbouring villages at Shamator town to discuss on various developmental programmes.  

The house also resolved that during the negotiation period of the administration with neighbouring villages, the public of Shamator would extend full cooperation to the district administration and state government.
