DIMAPUR, JUNE 23 (MExN): Towards empowerment of women, the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) has trained altogether 83 SHG members as Bima Sakhi. Out of 85 Cluster Level Federation (CLF), covering 74 RD Blocks in the State, 83 CLF have been positioned with Bima Sakhi.
The second batch of ToT training having 22 Bima Sakhifor Cluster Level Federation concluded on June 20 at Kohima, with Rajuselie Lhousa, state program manager for financial inclusion (SPMFI), NSRLM, as resource person. The participants engaged as Bank Sakhi and BC Sakhi shared their experiences and satisfaction in serving the SHG community.
The Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY)—personal accident insurance @1-2 lakhs, Pradhan Mantri Jivan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY)—life insurance @2.0 lakhs, andAyushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jyoti Ayushman Yojana (AB-PMJAY)—health insurance@5.0 lakhs, all these schemes are entitled to any Indian citizen. Chief Ministers Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) is a State specific health insurance scheme for citizens of the State only. A person between age of 18-70 are eligible to enrol in PMSBY, while 18-50 for PMJJBY. ABPMJAY or CMHIS has no age-bar for registration/enrolment.Besides claims settled from various insurance schemes, SHG members availed CMHIS health coverage is Kohima (40), Mokokchung (62), Tuensang (63) and Zunheboto (10) members.
The trainees conducted a field visit-cum-exposure program to Sechu Zubza Block and interacted with Village Level Organization (VLO) leaders and Awardee of State-level International Women’s Day (IWD) 2024.
Bima Sakhi is a SHG member who facilitates insurance enrolment and settlements of claims in cases of accident, life and health. They are also engaged as resource persons during training of SHG members for educating SHG members with support of performance based renumeration from NSRLM.
