The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) besides helping the district administration in maintaining law and order during the present lockdown, is also coming to the aid of the needy.
In this regard, C Company of the 48th Battalion CRPF which is presently deployed at Police Reserve in Shillong distributed various food items like rice, pulses, wheat, milk, salt, chili powder, turmeric powder, sugar and tea amongst 100 needy families of Upper Mawprem, under Jhalupara police outpost in Meghalaya on Friday.
This is part of the Special Civic Action Programme of the CRPF in its fight against COVID-19. A day earlier CRPF company also sprayed disinfectant in Upper Mawprem and Jhalupara areas also.
Inspector Kanta Prasad, Officer-in-Charge of C company led this distribution programme under the supervision of Sh. Sunit Varshney, Commandant 67 Battalion CRPF.
“CRPF is committed to fight and stop the spread of deadly coronavirus and is also motivating the common public to stay home and stay safe as well as to maintain social distancing. A little space makes us all safer together,” Inspector Prasad said.
