Dimapur, May 10 (MExN): The Speaker of the apex Sumi Kiphimi Kukhakulu (All Sumi Students’ Union), who was shot on May 2 outside Breeze Restaurant in Dimapur, is said to be out of danger. The SKK Speaker, Benito Swu was shot in the neck and was airlifted to Guwahati Neurological Centre. The same evening, he underwent surgery on May 8, the union’s General Secretary of SKK Mughato informed.

Following the incident which took place in broad daylight, the “GPRN/NSCN” claimed responsibility, terming it a case of “mistaken identity” and had apologized for the same. Consequently, SKK served an ‘ultimatum’ to the Naga group to hand over the cadres responsible for the shooting, by May 11.
