Should the old and senior politicians pave way for younger politicians?

Some of those who voted  YES had this to say:
•    Ginseng dependent politicians should give way t Amul Babies-healthy, strong with good future.
•    Nagas need young dynamic leaders not dynastic rulers, where the grandpa is a leader only in public, children are the masters in mattes of peeling public money and grandchildren rule the public roads, jobs, business.
•    Yes, the old and senior politicians should pave the way for younger politicians. Have they not destroyed Nagaland enough already? There is nothing new in what the older politicians are saying and doing. For posterity sake they must give way to the younger generation.
•    Yes, popular maxim of old is gold is no more relevant in present socio political scenario. So the old and senior politician must pave way for younger politicians. Specially in Naga society many old and senior politician often pluck by the buds of the younger politician, instead of moulding and nurturing them. That’s why leadership crisis is one of the major problems in Naga society.
•    Yes of course the younger ones has seen how the older ones has made mistake so politically 100% yes.
•    First, they've served too long..some 60 years, some 40, etc.  Second, they are corrupt and deserve to be in jails, not offices. . Third, they are outdated.  Fourth, younger generation must logically be in charge of their time.
•    Young people with better exposure to the contemporary world has a better understanding how to bring a better change in our society.
•    Naga younger politicians don’t need old and out dated politicians.
•    Yes, everybody has their own time and this is the time for older politicians to embark on an advisory role rather than active participation. Nagas want young energetic, full of ideas politicians to give new hope to the same old boring Naga politics.
•    Yes, why not give the younger (and hopefully the responsible) ones the chance to use their brains in running the state?? Really looking forward to it…
•    Ideally any government should have a mix of old and young, men and women. But in the case of the Naga situation, its only old men. There are no youngsters and neither are there any women. This is very disturbing and all that these old politicians have done is bring more corruption into Nagaland state. So, without any remorse I fully support that the younger generation must fight for their rightful place against the old and senior politicians.
•    Enough of old school, parasite politicians!!
•    Younger politician are more educated and see all sphere of development then the corrupted old politician.
•    How many young up coming politician do we see?? ZERO. 'Aint it time for d present generation to take over?? Only the past generation is not paving the way....for various selfish reason am sure.
•    They are outdated with the present fast changing world.
•    Because younger generations have newer ideas with a broader mindset.
•    They have been ruling Nagaland for a long time now. Look at our condition. I feel this will not change unless there are new leaders. Others who have seen it all are and willing to start afresh.
•    Your Time Is Up My Time Is Now.......
•    Yes, old and senior politicians should pave way for younger politician. Nagaland needs young dynamic politician with fresh perspective and vision to lead. Obsolete, redundant and old model like…..now in the twilight of their life has become a liability rather than an asset to their party and the people.
•    It is quite natural that this should happen, given that the mental and physical caliber of the old gets old.

Some of those who voted NO  had this to say:
•    Never, old folks shud stay coz they wil only bleed nagas slowly to death bt if younger politician comes they wil be vry hungry n bleed us to death instantly. May jamir n shurhozelie outlive all d politician.
•    Veterans, experience should clean this present first. Everybody is vulnerable before money; so can ordinary do in this mess of naga unprecedented society. An iron hand-will only be able to change naga system.
•    No. The younger politicians know much better of whats good and bad for the Nagas. So they don’t need unnecessary ideas and pavements from the old and unfair politicians.
•    Never. If the younger generation are to follow the steps of the older politicians, than definitely corruption would still prevail. Therefore the young politicians must take the other strategies which can bring transformation to our society. Equal rights and justice.
•    no way. Manmohan singh, advani, vajpayee, karunanidhi, jyoti basu, pawar etc wil never retire n giv chance to immature young politician lik rahul, pilot, sangma. Now in ngl sc jamir hs com back, shurhozelie also shud contest nxt election.. We need experienced old corrupt politician rather than ambitious impulsive greenhorn young politicians who may bring more problm than we are facing now.  Its better to choose the lesser evil.
•    No, not necessarily, sincere senior politicians should also be there to guide the youngsters. By nature, youngsters has tendency to make mistake, some time too rush and makes wrong decision.

Some of those who voted OTHERS had this to say:
•    Its not about old or young, men or women…its about who has the qualities of a good leader. If the younger one has better potential, then give him a chance….old or young, pave the way for the one who has a true vision for the Nagas…its not about the years…its about character and quality.
•    There should be a mix of both. The society needs the wisdom and knowledge of both the old and the young.
•    Some old politicians are so blinded by their ill-gotten material wealth that they shamelessly declared themselves fit to contest and win in elections never taking into account the sentiments of the poor common people who’ll be casting the vote and select the best person how brazenly crude!
•    While there is no doubt that the older generation of Naga politicians have seriously messed up the state of affairs in Nagaland, I am not convinced that the younger generation of politicians is any different. Those young politicians vying for a place in state politics have only followed the same footsteps as their elders. In fact they have mastered the tricks of state craft even better than their elders. So this is the irony. The older generation of politicians has messed up, the younger generation could mess up even more. What we need is a new breed of young leaders that have strong moral and ethical principles. Unfortunately, I cant even think of one.
•    Like China made products, our modern life span is very short so in politics, minimum age at entry should be 40 years coz immature people cannot perform their responsibilities satisfactorily! And retirement age should be 65 years so they can enjoy their sunset years in peace and quite!
•    Old timers on the one hand oughtn’t to be pigheaded with holier than-thou attitude while the young Turks on the other hand ought to be more assertive by pushing themselves hard er with more initiatives and innovations to make their presence felt at the decision making table. Naga think-tank, policy makers, sagacious and visionary leaders greatly need to explore how best to harness the potential and talent of the Naga youth for optimum utilization of their service to the state and its populace. The younger can do much better in analyzing and dissecting any given situation on its merits as the destiny beckons the younger leaders to come forward to build bridge to the secure future for our grandchildren. Meantime, let the older be a seasoned sailor and play a mentoring role and the younger be a dynamic captain taking the helm, then come rain or shine, the motley crew of passengers can rest assured that they are all heading toward a safe harbor.
•    I would like the grand old man of Naga politics to answer this question.
