Dimapur, June 15 (MExN): The Department of Cooperation has decided to serve show cause notice to all the defunct and non-functioning cooperative societies in Nagaland and cancel registrations of those failing to respond. This comes following the State cabinet’s decision on cancellation of defunct and non-performing cooperative societies.
The decision to serve show cause notice was made clear today during a review meeting of the departmental officers at Cooperative Training Center, Medziphema in the presence of Lithrongla G. Chishi (IAS), Secretary of Cooperation Department.
The department has already prepared the modalities and will be serving notices immediately. Chishi, who chaired the meeting, sought cooperation from everyone to realize the goals of the department and commented that only the heads of the department cannot bring a change unless everyone gets involved. She said there is a need that everyone puts sincere efforts and try to reach the targets set.
Prior to the meeting, Chishi along with the officers of all the districts and staffs carried out cleanliness drive under ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ in the premise and surrounding of the Center and planted a ‘Bakul’ tree in commemoration of the day.
During the meeting, she asked the officials to dedicate at least two hours in a week to keep their respective offices clean and cited that a clean surrounding reduces negative vibes and improves efficiency.
“We should start from our homes,” she said, adding getting involved to maintain cleanliness in one’s homes and offices eventually makes a difference and brings a change.
