‘Showcase Dimapur in a optimistic way’

DIMAPUR, Nov 30 (MExN): Dimapur being the commercial hub of the State with all the modern communication facilities available should try to showcase the District in particular and the State in general in a very positive possible way, said Toshi Aier, IAS, Principal Secretary, Development of Rural Development (DRD), Nagaland here today while speaking as the Guest of Honor during the closing function of the two-day Silver Jubilee Celebration of Dimapur District Village Development Block Board (DDVDB).

The celebration was organized under the theme “Forging Ahead” at Dimapur District Sports Council amidst a mammoth gathering.

He further gave his humble suggestions to all the Development Blocks to further strengthen the co-operation among each other so to yield more developments in the state. The Cultural dances of the second day were presented by Sumi’s of Hotovi, Xnelhozhe, Tokuzha under Kohoboto block, Nepali from Singrijan, Kachari and Sangtam representing Dhanshiripar block and Chakhesang of Deizephe village. The best Village Development Block category went to Medziphema followed by Nuiland and Khohoto and Singrijan, Danshiri block.

In the district level Naga United Village bagged the winner position. The final of tug-of-war was was won by Sovima where the runners-up was bagged by Tenyiphe and 2nd runners-up went towards Nuiland block.

The best VDB Secretary was awarded to Tali Pongen of Industrial Village, Medziphema block. Apart from this the award for the best exhibition stall went to Khohoto block. The programme was chaired by A.K. Rai, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Niuland while Rev. Z. Yapang, Chairman, Dimapur Pastors’ Fellowship pronounced the invocation and vote of thanks was articulated by Bei-u Angami, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur.
