Dimapur, October 18 (MExN): Shree Agarwal Mahasabha (SAM) Dimapur organised a Blood Donation Camp in association with the Civil Hospital on October 16 as a part of the Agrasen Jayanti Celebrations 2022.
A total of 27 units of blood were collected and submitted to the Civil Hospital Blood Bank during the camp in the presence of blood bank in-charge of the hospital, Dr Temsu.
As per a press release from SAM, Maharaja Agrasen was the father of Agarwal Community who taught the world virtues such as honesty, donation, sharing and good governance.
“Each family who came to his kingdom was given one brick and one coin by each family in the kingdom which helped the new family make a home and start a business to earn their livelihood,” it said.
Accordingly, the Agarwal Community is well known in the world for its business practices, prowess and contribution to the society around, it added.
SAM Dimapur also donated eatables to multiple orphanages on September 26 to mark the 5176th birth anniversary of Maharaja Agrasen, the release informed.
A cultural event was also organised on October 16 at Durga Mandir Hall, where all members of the community gathered together and participated in the celebrations.
At the event, SAM Dimapur President Mahesh Agarwal gave brief history of Agarwal Community while Secretary Ravi Poddar highlighted all the good services undertaken by the organisation. Sanjay Agarwal felicitated students of the Agarwal Community who excelled in studies and professional areas at the event presided by Indar Agarwal.
