Dimapur, February 23 (MExN): Reacting to NPF president Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu’s statements in the ongoing election rallies, the BJP Nagaland has stated that the “salvo of missiles” directed against other political parties by the former are “like random blank firing without bullets.”
A press release from BJP Nagaland Media Cell maintained that the NPF chief “conjures up imaginary ‘alien forces’ and conveniently links them to the BJP and other rival political parties.”
In his tirade against the BJP, the press release said, the veteran leader also quoted Article 25 of the Constitution which safeguards freedom to profess, practice and propagate one’s own religion, “but in the present election scenario, it is the NPF president himself who is seen trying to bulldoze other faiths by adopting the ‘holier than thou’ attitude.”
BJP also ridiculed Shürhozelie’s comment that “by dropping corrupt leaders, the NPF would form the government with new members with new vision, programmes and policies.”
The NPF, it stated, should spare the electorate from their lectures on development, new vision and new policies. “After all the public had more than enough of development during the last 4 years when their developmental activities was confined to internal party crisis, infighting, ego battles, greed for portfolios and one-upmanship.”
Instability was the one word for the government of the day and performance was invisible, BJP added.
