SI Jamir responds to Imchen’s notice

Dimapur, May 21 (MExN): Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president SI Jamir today issued a brief statement in response to the “notice” served against him by Home Minister Imkong Imchen through a lawyer. SI Jamir responded by posing his earlier question to Imchen that in what way has the Congress party “always been against the Naga political issue.” Jamir presumed that the minister’s ‘notice’ has no “locus standi” (legal standing) and that Imchen ‘tactfully’ avoided the question posed by the Congress leader.
“In this regard though I am not a legal expert I presume that the said notice has no locus standi since no cause of action arising in any issue has been stated in the said notice by the server,” SI Jamir said in the note. “It may also be stated that at this juncture without going into the cracks of the issue, answering to the notice is not warranted.”
The NPCC chief stated – “However it is for the information of Mr. L Imchen, I say that had Mr. Imchen re-winded his memory lane, the sufferings experienced by the Nagas for the causes, he would not have asked me to narrate the turbulent period, time and about the bloodline etc.” Jamir said Imchen has “tactfully averted my questions under flimsy plea”.  “Thereby I am being the president of NPCC once again do hereby question Mr. L Imchen to categorically reply as to in what way Congress has been always against the Naga political issue.”
