Signature campaign, quiz competition marks Malaria Day at Tizit

Mon, April 26 (MExN): Development Association of Nagaland & Caritas India in partnership with The National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) commemorated the World Malaria Day at the Government Higher Secondary School in Tizit Mon.  

The event was marked by a quiz competition in which 8 schools took part and pledged to fight malaria. Over 350 school students, teachers, medical staff, police and NAP personnel from C Company Tizit, District Administration, NGOs and Tizit Town student’s union members witnessed the event.  

Dr Mukherjee, PHC MO, speaking on the occasion spoke on the causes of malaria and the need to prevent oneself from malaria. He highlighted to the participants the treatments available and the diagnosis of malaria.  

All the participants and guests pledged to fight malaria by signing on a signature campaign which was initiated by Tizit EAC Rorheu Peseyie.  

Kishor Dass DPO DAN-Caritas in his keynote address highlighted the importance of World Malaria Day and the need to fight Malaria by all key stakeholders i.e., public and private sectors, individuals and communities ensuring elimination of malaria which is also critical to ending poverty.
