Dimapur | December 16
In order to promote sustainable practices, Lakshay NGO and Eco Warriors organised a signature campaign at New Market, Dimapur, on December 15, urging citizens to take responsibility for reducing plastic waste, particularly PET bottles. The initiative highlighted the importance of reusing and recycling plastics as valuable resources, emphasising their role in environmental conservation.
The campaign received support from PACE (Packaging Association for Clean Environment), alongside the Dimapur Municipal Council and the Nagaland Pollution Control Board. Hundreds of participants signed pledges, committing to responsible disposal and recycling of PET bottles and plastics, underscoring the need for a collective, community-driven effort to tackle plastic pollution.
Lakshay NGO and Eco Warriors expressed gratitude to the supporting organisations and called on local citizens to adopt sustainable practices for the proper disposal and recycling of plastics. The organisers also announced that the campaign will run for 15 days, with events planned at various locations across Dimapur. They are inviting local residents and environmental enthusiasts to actively participate in this important initiative.
