In the Nagaland Christian contemporary music scene, Sinai Ministry has been part of many ground-breaking initiatives- whether it is magnifying the movement of praise and worship music or writing and compositing original gospel songs. With the passion and commitment of reaching out to a greater congregation through the medium of music, the Sinai Ministry dedicated a team of musicians and artistes under the banner of ‘Sinai Music.’

Talking to The Morung Express, the team shares that Sinai Music was conceptualised by the Sinai Ministry, Director, Wabang Longchari ‘with the intent to encourage singers and musicians to write their originals and give them a platform.’

The core values and principles for Sinai Music, which comprises of worship leaders actively involved in The Lighthouse Church, Dimapur states, are “To rise up a generation of creatives in our land and beyond.” The team asserts that “Sinai Music believes in tapping into the sounds of Heaven and re-leasing it here on earth through music.”

The social media feeds have been buzzing with updates on their first official music video of Sinai Music called ‘Time is Now’ which was released on October 3 (Sunday) evening. “It is purely God inspired,” the team credits without shying away from making a faith statement. “We are convinced that more than ever before the Time is Now for believers to stand in Unity and expand the Kingdom of God, raising the banner of victory everywhere we go and this is what the song wants to convey,” they believe so.

As much as the song is an inspiration and “spiritual,” it also involved the process of writing, production, finance etc. This song was written during this year’s lockdown (in the month of May-June).

“This song is special not just because it is our first official song but also because this is a collective contribution of the entire team right from the lyrics to the music,” Sinai Music states.

The song was recorded by Nash Longkumer in his home studio where “the maximum creativity in terms of music came out.” The video was made by Imcha Jamir, who is also a member of Sinai Music and Toshi Longchar. “The finance was very minimal because the production team was more than willing to support,’ the team acknowledges.

For Sinai Music, the journey has just begun as they says, “Well, we would definitely like to have more originals and go on tours and have a wide audience reach. No ultimate dream but believing in a Big God who can do big things for little people like us.”

“Let God be the Centre. Be real and authentic”- is what the team would like to convey as an advice for someone wanting to follow in the footsteps of Sinai Music.

On the plan for a full-length album, for now Sinai Music team are focusing on singles but “definitely if it is God’s will we would love to work on an album.”
