Singing and band competition in Kohima

Our Correspondent Kohima | February 4   The 4th Kohima town inter-ward women singing and band competition commenced on February 3 here at the State Academy Hall under the aegis of NPF 9th Kohima Town A/C.  

In inter- ward women singing competition, held on February 3 last, Ward No. 7 Daklane stood first position while Ward No.14 Old Minister’s Hill and Poterlane bagged second position.   Merentoshi Jamir, advisor to CM graced the occasion as the guest of honour. Appreciating the concept of such event in bringing the people together through music, Jamir said that he will also try to initiate such event in his constituency cutting across the party line.   He also urged upon all the wards in Kohima to bring various Naga tribes together for more unity and better understanding.   Minister for environment, forests & climate change Dr. Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire also spoke on the occasion. Altogether, 13 wards joined the competition.
