Longleng, September 29 (MExN): The District Task Force, BBBP & Mahila Shukti Kendra, Longleng conducted singing and drama competition for 12 wards under Longleng town on September 28 at Longleng Town Baptist Church (LTBC). The programme was held under the theme ‘you are powerful, beautiful, brilliant & brave and little girls with dreams become women with vision.’
The DC Longleng John Tsulise Santam spoke on the theme and encouraged the girl child to excel and shine in their own ways and make our society a better place through their participation. Tauhong Phom CDPO Longleng & Nodal officer BBBP also spoke on the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao while special prayer for girl child was proposed by Rev. Beau, Pastor LTBC.
The winners of the competition were Ngenching ward for singing and Oushok Baprist Church for drama. The prize winning song will be recorded and use as the theme song of BBBP Longleng and the drama winner will be used to organize street play.
As part of the programme, a DIPR report stated that the students of GHSS Longleng also conducted street play at various junctions in the Longleng town on September 29. The purpose of the street play was to create awareness about the importance of girl child and women in the modern society.
