Singrijan VC restricts unauthorised sale of land

Dimapur, September 17 (MExN): The Singrijan Village Council has restricted the sale or mortgage of any landed property within the jurisdiction of Singrijan village “without proper permission” from the village council.

“As such, if an ybody doing so will be at his/her own risk for which the aforesaid village council will not be responsible for any kind of action in near future,” stated a press release issued by the Council’s chairman, Hari Mishra, and secretary Puran Sunuwar. The directive comes following a resolution taken by the Singrijan Village Council on September 14, the release informed.

The council further informed of its decision that the landed property of Chitra Chetri, “son of late Hari Bahadur Chetri, and Goman Giri, son of late Tezu Giri,” which is situated at Singrijan village and which had been seized by the Council “as per council resolution” made on July 6, 2008, and August 8, 2008, “will continue till further order”.

The Council further informed of a strict ban on hunting and fishing within its jurisdiction. Therefore, in case of anybody found violating the order, the Council warned, necessary action would be initiated against him/her “as per council law”.
