Langzanger, January 8 (MExN): The 19th general session of the Singti Area Students Union (SASU) was held successful at Langzanger Village from January 5 to 7. Aound 200 delegates from six units attended the session.
The chief guest of the general session Pitiongse, Dy. Commissioner, Excise Nagaland, while hoisting the flag asked the students to learn how to live in harmony with neighboring villages and brothers so that peace and progress is seen in the area. He encouraged the students to live with time in order to catch up with the fast changing world and added that the primary role of the students is to study so one should know how to priorities in order to be successful.
Cultural chief guest Lipio, Finance secretary USLP, while addressing the gathering said, each one is defined by one’s own culture and it is only through culture you are known as person, without which you are not worth living. He also asked the students to learn traditional songs; folk stories as this are the treasure in one’s life. Stressing on importance of culture he said, today many students and youngsters do not know ones culture and tradition and because of which rights is also being denied and asked the students to be more aware of one’s culture and tradition along with education.
Tsointhe, Secretary IRCS Kiphire spoke on, ‘Respect diversity, remake Singti’, while Sethricho ADC DMA (SSA) spoke on ‘Education; linking individual and society’. Other highlight of the three day programme was sports, literary, and cultural competition.
