Through this column I would like to impress upon the Government of Nagaland regarding the banking matter of Pughoboto Sub division. It is to state that Pughoboto is under district of Zunheboto., and inorder to reach Zunheboto the district (HQ), the people of Pughoboto have to halt in Kohima for a night so that next morning one may proceed to Zunheboto either via Chazouba or Wokha and to make matters short there is no SBI or Co-operative bank at the Sub division HQ, Pughoboto. Such, being the case, the people of Pughoboto very rarely avail the banking facilities.
Pughoboto, which is also one of the oldest Sub division with ADC as its administrative head has no SBI or any other bank s except Nagaland Rural Bank whereas, most sub divisions has SBI or co-operative bank.
Hence, it is high time that Pughoboto should also have at least either one of these banks. Taking the opportunity, some months back R.B.I Governor has visited Nagaland and it was learnt that he was really satisfied about the banking credit in Nagaland. Taking the advantage, the Nagaland Government has placed the need for opening some more S.B.I branches in Nagaland. Therefore, through this column I would like to express my desire that sooner or later S.B.I bank is established at Pughoboto. I wish by this time, the people of Pughoboto Sub Division realize the need for such banks at Pughoboto.
