The Congress party in Nagaland has decided to issue tickets to all the sitting Congress MLAs and appealed to the party workers in the constituencies to accept the sitting candidate and support them. This was stated by Congress Legislature Party Leader Tokheho Yepthomi during a crucial meeting of Congress leaders today. The meeting also took the opinion of all Congress leaders, frontal chiefs and workers in order to chalk out strategies for the coming elections.
The meeting was attended by Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) office bearers, MLAs, PCC members, election campaign committee members, DCC presidents and frontal chiefs took place here at the Congress Bhavan.
Addressing the meeting, NPCC President S. I. Jamir called upon the Congress workers to come out with dedication for the party and work unitedly to capture power in the State to bring all round development for the people of the State.
He said that the party is aware that there are many aspirants in every assembly constituencies and appealed to them to sit together with the DCC and mutually find out one common candidate, who has dedication to the party and the people of the area.
Jamir said the Congress party has to sit in Opposition Bench for last ten years, this time, if the party workers work hard, Congress will rule the state to serve the people.
Congress Legislature Party leader Tokheho Yepthomi, in his address said the present Government has indulged in rampant corruption on every front and this is the time for the Congress party to wipe out all the corruption and give a clean administration that will benefit people of the State.
Former Nagaland Chief Minister K. L. Chishi also addressed the meeting. The meeting was chaired by NPCC Vice President Nillo Rengma while Khetovi Ayemi delivered welcome address.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Vaprumu Demo, General Secretary NPCC.
