Kohima, June 1 (MExN): The Nagaland government on Monday appointed six Members of the Legislative Assembly as Advisors to Chief Minister, assigning them specific departments to oversee, according to a notification issued by the Cabinet Secretariat (Cabinet Cell).
Kuzholuzo Nienu has been assigned the Science and Technology department, Puthai Longon will advise on Taxes, and Er Picto Shohe has been assigned the New and Renewable Energy department.
Achumbemo Kikon will handle SCERT and Food Processing, Nyusietho Nyuthe has been assigned NSDMA and Inland Waterways, while Daochier I Imchen will advise on Information and Public Relations and Soil and Water Conservation.
The appointments take effect immediately and are intended to utilise the experience of the legislators for the benefit of the public, the notification stated.
The advisors will render their views and suggestions on matters referred to them by the concerned departments before issues are placed before the minister-in-charge for a final decision.
The notification further clarified that the advisors will not be entitled to any pay, salary, emoluments, remuneration or perks from the state government beyond what is normally admissible to them as Members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly through the Assembly Secretariat.
