Six nominees take oath of affirmation as members of KMC

Kohima, January 29 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima Kumar Ramnikant administered the oath of affirmation to the newly appointed Government Nominee Members of Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) on January 29. 

This was conducted in accordance with the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2023, stated a DIPR report. The six government nominees for KMC are Vilaseto Soleho, Azo Kirha, Viwhelie Khezhie, Dziesekhonu Metha, Vitso Rio and Kezhazer Angami.

In his address, the DC Kohima said, “With your contributions, the Council can now function in full flow, and we look forward to greater achievements. Together, let us work for the welfare of the people and the community. Today marks an important occasion, and its success depends on our collective efforts”

The KMC Chairman, Councillor Neikhozo Suokhrie, also addressed the gathering, and described the event as a milestone and shared his vision for the newly constituted team. “With collaboration and determination, we will accomplish great things for our city. Let us use our collective wisdom to overcome challenges and seize opportunities to serve our people effectively,” he said.
He emphasised the responsibility that comes with their roles, acknowledging the challenges of being new to their positions. However, he affirmed the readiness to face the road ahead with dedication and commitment.

An update stated here that on behalf of government nominee members, Vitso Rio emphasised the importance of collective efforts for the development of Kohima and urged everyone to come forward with constructive ideas to enhance the town’s growth and infrastructure.

The event was attended by all concerned members of KMC, including the State Election Commissioner,
Commissioner of Nagaland, Commissioner & Secretary of the Municipal Affairs Department, Chairperson of KMC, and Chief Executive Officer of KMC.
