The six year anniversary of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY was commemorated at Mon District Hospital conference hall on September 30.

Mon, September 30 (MExN): An event was organised to commemorate the six-year anniversary of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY at the Mon District Hospital conference hall on September 30.
A press release received here stated that Dr S Ngampa Sangme, Nodal Officer, AB PMJAY CMHIS DH Mon, spoke about PM-JAY CMHIS’s journey at District Hospital Mon.
He stated that originally in 2018, the District Hospital Mon encountered numerous obstacles due to a lack of funds to launch the scheme’s services. “With tremendous effort and care, the doctors and the staffs contributed money from their own pockets as a loan to buy medicines, IT equipment, power backup, consumables and hire additional staffs,” it was stated. The team organised Beneficiary Identification System (BIS) drives across Mon, working tirelessly to ensure that everyone received the card, he said.
Summarising, he stated that the district hospital’s unwavering efforts paid off in 2021 when it was recognized as the “best-performing empanelled hospital” in the district hospital category under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
With increasing revenue, the hospital invested in improving services by hiring additional staffs, repairing and maintaining infrastructure, equipment, and patient care, he explained. Dr Sangme stated that the district's success in community health care is a testament to the dedication, teamwork, and support. As a result, 80-90% patients now use PM-JAY/CMHIS cards while seeking treatment.
Special invitee, Tshelhiu EAC, Mon expressed her gratitude and praised the District Hospital, Mon on being the best empanelled hospital. She requested all the participants to spread the information received today to their families, friends and relatives and get the card as soon as possible. She stated that this is the responsibility of all the stakeholders, not just the hospital or administration, and that if there is a necessity or need, the district administration is always available to help and support.
Later, District Hospital Mon was awarded the prize for the best empanelled hospital within the district, and an essay writing competition for schools was held, with Lemya, Govt Higher Secondary School finishing third, Yeangkap Edith Douglas School coming in second, and M Hongnaw Edith Douglas School winning first.
