Kohima, October 6 (MExN): St Joseph's College (Autonomous), Jakhama witnessed the 25th Literary Fest organized by the Department of English on October 2 at the College Indoor Stadium, under the theme "Explore Beauty in Art." The Fest began with an invocation of blessings by Thungchibeni T Erui, followed by welcome address by Tsachumse H Sangtam, President of Department of English.
Rev Dr Fr Joy Thomas declared the Fest open stating, "The main objective of the Literature Fest is to foster a love for literature – reading and writing." Different on-stage competitions were held which included extempore speech, declamation, folk song, duet, solo and debate. Off-stage competitions included poetry composition, story writing and painting. MA English students of the department also competed in the Fest. The overall champion was bagged by Team Charlotte, of BA 5th semester.
