SJC Women’s Forum conducts extension service

Jakhama, August 13 (MExN): The Women’s’ Forum of St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama, as part of its extension service to the local community in general and to girls and women in particular, conducted a program at St. John Bosco School, Khonoma on August 11.  

A press release informed that a total of 17 Women’s Forum student members led by their two directors visited the school. Divided into smaller teams, they visited the classes from class 5 to 10 and interacted with the girl students, who were briefed on various topics such as women’s health and hygiene, teen pregnancy, women’s right etc. At the same time, the boys of the school were separately briefed on health and hygiene and teen pregnancy by two male students from the college.  

The Women’s Forum group also distributed the donations made by the students and staffs of St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama to all the students of the school from LKG to class 10.  

Miss Nagaland 2nd runner up 2018, who was also a student member of the Women’s Forum, was also present to support and contribute towards the programme.  

A short concluding programme was held at the school’s courtyard, where the Women’s Forum director spoke about the Forum and how it tries to impact and influence girls in all positive ways to bring about changes in the society. The Forum members also shared their personal experiences of the school and one of the members also presented a song.  

Fr. Solomon Vizo, the principal of the school, in his speech thanked the Women’s Forum team and also St. Joseph’s College for their love and concern for the school.
