Skill development training on food processing held in Pfütsero

Participants of three-day skill development training on food processing held at Pfütsero. 
 

Kohima, March 2 (MExN): The district administration and DLCW-Mahila Shakti Kendra, Phek under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) organized three-day skill development training on food processing at Chakhesang Women Welfare Society (CWWS), Pfütsero on February 25 last.

Altogether, 20 women from 10 villages within Phek district availed the training.

The objective of the training was to enhance the knowledge of self dependency and provide income generation skills for the rural women.

Nezelu Nyekha chaired the orientation programme. Thungbemo Patton, SDO (Civil) Pfütsero gave a short speech while Vechulo-u Kanuo, Executive Director, CWWS exhorted the gathering.

She spoke on importance of skill development training in the district.

N Bhavani Sri, IAS, Nodal officer BBBP, stated that, financial independency and self reliance are important component in empowering women.

She informed that the district administration is identifying the potential skills in Naga women and train on those specific fields for income generation which includes weaving, processing local fruits and vegetables etc.
Meanwhile, training on tailoring also commenced today. It will continue till March 14.
