SKK firm on upgrading KPA Atoizü into engineering college

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 14 (MExN): The All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) has urged the Nagaland Government and “all right thinking Naga people” to explore every possible channel for uprgradation of the Khelhoshe Polytechnic (KPA) in Atoizü. A press release from the SKK President, Hutoshe Kits and General Secretary, Bokalu V Jimo said that the union has been “sincerely pursuing the issue of up-gradation of KPA into a full-fledged engineering college for the past few years.” It informed that the SKK has constantly been in touch with the authorities concerned, including the Government of Nagaland and the Central Ministry concerned.

It said that the upgradation of the KPA into an engineering college is long overdue and urged the Government of Nagaland to “uphold the rule of law so as to avoid any discrepancies” on this issue.  The SKK stated that the KPA, which was established in the year 1972, is one of the oldest institutions in the State, and the union has been sincerely safeguarding the institution for the welfare of the Nagas.  “The SKK having genuine concern for the institution will not entertain the negative concept from any individual, organisation/political groups that tries to belittle the very issue that concerns all the Naga people at large,” it asserted.

The union further cautioned that it would be compelled to pursue their own course of action “up to whatever extent” if their appeal remains unheard.
