
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 19 (MExN): West Bengal government will accord due honour to the Naga IR jawan who succumbed to injuries after a gun battle with Maoists in Purulia district on November 15 last.
On Saturday afternoon, the slain soldier identified as Constable Mhasivikho Kirha of ‘F’ coy 10 IR (NAP), was given full guard of honour at an army cantonment in Purulia, sources said.
Sources also said that West Bengal chief minister, Mamata Banerjee, along with some of her cabinet colleagues and government officials will pay their respect to the mortal remains of the Naga jawan Sunday morning at Kolkata Airport, enroute to Nagaland by flight.
Family sources said that the mortal remains of late Mhasivikho will arrive Dimapur airport around 11-11.30 am. Nagaland government will also accord full honour to the slain IRB jawan.
Meanwhile, family sources said that the funeral service of late Mhasivikho will be held Sunday at 2 pm at the deceased hometown Chumukedima.
State DGP and other top brass of Nagaland Police will be attending the funeral service, sources added.
It may be mentioned late Mhasivikho and a havildar of the 10 IR (NAP) deployed in West Bengal to fight the Maoists, were injured during a gun battle with the Maoists rebels in Purulia district on November 15 last.
Sources said the havildar is presently out of danger.
