Smart City Mission gets another year extension

The Smart City Mission period, which was supposed to be completed by June 2023 has received another extension by a year’s time from the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) to facilitate the completion of the ongoing projects.

This was informed by Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSCDL) Chief Executive Officer, Er Kezhazelhou Theünuo during the inauguration of Nagabazar Panchayat hall-cum-parking in Kohima on August 4. As of June 2023, it is estimated that 74% of 100 smart cities projects are being completed and 26% are yet to complete for which extension has been granted, he informed. After the completion of Smart City Mission period, Kohima Smart city assets/properties will be handed over to Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) for management and maintenance, Er Theünuo said.
