Smart meter campaign underway across Nagaland

Kohima, February 19 (MExN): As part of the nationwide ‘Smart Meter Pakhwada’ campaign, the Department of Power, Government of Nagaland, has launched a series of initiatives to raise consumer awareness about smart meters and address misconceptions surrounding them.

The campaign, which is being observed across the country from February 9 to 23 under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), aims to build consumer confidence in the new metering technology.

A press release from Chief Engineer (D&R) stated that numerous public outreach activities have been undertaken in Nagaland.

These include the display of posters and banners, distribution of leaflets, and setting up of information kiosks at Sub-Division offices and other high-footfall locations.

Furthermore, the department is conducting door to door outreach to assist consumers in downloading the mobile application and demonstrate its usage in towns where smart metering works has commenced.

The department has urged consumers to visit the information kiosks for any queries or doubts regarding the new meters.

Consumers who already have smart meters installed have been requested to download and register on the 'Smart Meters Nagaland' mobile app, available on the Google Play Store.
