Chare, August 4 (MExN): The School Management and Development Committee (SMDC) of GHS, Chare under Tuensang district organised a seminar on the theme ‘evolving horizons - charting a visionary course’ on August 4.
The event was held as a social initiative to empower the community and promote knowledge-sharing among various stakeholders, GHS Chare stated in a press release.
The seminar was graced by academician, lawyer and writer Dr Aniruddha Babar. Delivering a talk on the topic, ‘Building a Stronger India through Intergenerational Collaboration’ the speaker emphasised the importance of unity and cooperation among different age groups to achieve justice, progress and development. He further emphasized on a need to know the Constitution of India and Modern Legal System, also encouraged civil society members, Gaonburas, Dobashis and common citizens to study and learn Fundamental Rights guaranteed by Constitution to protect themselves from any form of exploitation.
The second talk, ‘You are Being Summoned by the New World,’ shed light on embracing change and adapting to new challenges to thrive in an ever-changing landscape, encouraging the young generation to become agents of change for the new world.
Dr Aniruddha also shared his concern on rising alcoholism, drugs and tobacco addiction as well as HIV prevalence among youths of Nagaland. He advocated for Tobacco Free Zones, also strongly suggested introducing sex education in schools.
The talks delivered by the resource person were translated into Sangtam language by Nycha Sangtam, Graduate Teacher. L Tia Sangtam, Graduate Teacher was the chairperson. The opening address was delivered by Assistant Head Mistress,
aongchemten; Tinuwati Jamir, DEO, Tuensang, delivered the keynote address; while conclusion note was pronounced by Nungshikhoba Sangtam, Head Gaonbura, Tsaru village.
The seminar audience included students, parents, teaching and non-teaching staff of GHS, Chare, Gaonburas, Academicians, Scholars, Church Members, and civil society members.
Following the seminar, SMDC, GHS Chare committed to continue their social initiatives and regularly organise more events.
